Abstract

Violence and insecurity in public spaces are worrying problems for societies worldwide. Violence in its most complete meaning is a human behavior, which is based on a confrontation of unequal powers in order to subdue one or more people. The objective was to analyze the limitations of violence and insecurity in the right of women to public spaces in the city of Andahuaylas, with a descriptive and phenomenological qualitative approach. Through observation, semi-structured interview and documentary review, the results point to repeated episodes of physical, psychological and sexual violence, suffered by women in the population of Andahuaylas, which makes necessary the intervention of the authorities in terms of effective policies and inclusion from the perspective of women to ensure safety and equality in the city and its work spaces.
