Evolution of industrial companies in Ecuador's agricultural sector
Abstract
The objective of this research is to explain the determinants that affect the productivity of industrial companies in the agricultural sector in Ecuador during the period 2010-2020. For this purpose, the industrial companies of the agricultural sector in Ecuador and their evolution during the mentioned period were described. Subsequently, the production function of industrial companies in the agricultural sector in Ecuador was estimated. Also, the determinants of total factor productivity of industrial firms in the agricultural sector in Ecuador were established using a panel data model. The results show that the productive factor that has the greatest impact on the production of industrial firms in the agricultural sector is labor. In addition, firm size is the main determinant of firm productivity, with the other variables analyzed being significant and explaining 61 percent of the changes generated in productivity. It is concluded that labor is the most important productive factor and that the model used to explain productivity is highly significant.Downloads
