Abstract

The objective of this study was to describe the perception of patients with chronic diseases on the quality of medical care they receive in the medium security stage of the Center of Privation of Libertad-Cotopaxi Nº1. Given that the quality of medical care in the country's prisons has long ceased to be of great importance for a very vulnerable demographic group, a cross-sectional and descriptive design was used in the development of this study, analyzing responsiveness, security, reliability, empathy and tangible elements; this made it possible to evaluate the quality of the service received from the patient's point of view, it turned out that the users want to be attended in a timely and quick manner. However, their perception of the quality of care is negative, so it is recommended to take the necessary measures to improve the quality of the health service and increase patient satisfaction.
