Phyllodes tumor is characterized as an unusual and generally unilateral fibroepithelial neoplasm that can be benign or malignant and affects mostly women from 35 years of age onwards. Its diagnosis is focused on mammography accompanied by biopsy and ultrasound to determine the grade and stage of the tumor. Its treatment depends on the grade of the tumor, but it has been determined that the most effective is surgical resection with minimum free margins of 1cm, since it is estimated that it prevents the appearance of recurrences on a large scale, thus presenting a case of a 52-year-old woman diagnosed with a malignant phyllodes tumor of the left breast which was removed by means of a partial mastectomy with a good prognosis.
