Technological advances in imaging tests have allowed accurate morphological assessment of the anatomical variants of the structures found inside the skull, sphenoid sinus and pituitary fossa, which is useful for planning transsphenoidal surgery or adjacent structures. The objective of this study is to determine the morphometry and dimensions by computed tomography of the sphenoid sinus and pituitary fossa. A retrospective search was carried out for adult patients without adjacent pathologies who have skull tomography at the Armed Forces Specialty Hospital, during the period January-December 2020, in adults who underwent cranial tomography, the images will be evaluated in a work station that has a software for reading images in bone window in MPR multiplanar reconstruction, length, width, depth and volume of the sphenoidal sinus and hypophyseal fossa will be measured, the information will be collected and processed using SPSS/Windows, version 23, the qualitative variables will be expressed as absolute and relative frequencies, inferential statistics will use the chi-square tests, with a level of statistical significance p<0. 05. The results obtained show that there is no statistical significance or correlation between the variables of dimension and volume of the sphenoid sinus and sella turcica. Likewise, there is no relationship between these variables and sex and age range. The type of sphenoid sinus pneumatization is not associated with the sex and age of the patients. The shape of the sella turcica has a relationship with the sex of the participants. The relationship between the volume of the sphenoid sinus and the volume of the sella turcica values did not present statistical significance, and presented a very low Spearman correlation.
