The Human Research Ethics Committee of the University of Guayaquil (CEISH-UG) primarily aims to safeguard the dignity, rights, integrity, safety, and well-being of individuals participating in scientific research. This objective is achieved through the ethical, methodological, and legal evaluation of research protocols, ensuring compliance with national and international regulations, as well as fundamental bioethical principles. Additionally, CEISH-UG promotes ethical research practices and contributes to the generation of socially responsible scientific knowledge. The methodology is based on documentary review and systematization aligned with the protocols, regulations, resolutions, and processes established since the inception of CEISH-UG. Key outcomes include compliance with international standards, positioning the University of Guayaquil as an ethical and methodological benchmark in high-impact scientific publications. CEISH-UG has also optimized its response times, allowing researchers to receive timely ethical assessments without compromising quality. In conclusion, progress has been made in data systematization and the implementation of a fee structure for external researchers. These initiatives reflect our commitment to excellence and integrity in scientific research and represent a significant step toward consolidating the committee as a fundamental pillar in the development of ethically responsible research.
