This editorial addresses the fundamental role of critical care nursing and its impact on community engagement. It highlights how, through linkage projects, academia and nursing professionals can enhance health education, strengthen disease prevention, and optimize the care of critically ill patients both within and beyond hospital settings. The benefits of these engagement programs are analyzed, emphasizing their ability to empower nursing professionals by enabling the application of knowledge in real-world scenarios. Additionally, the importance of first aid training, emergency management, and home care is underscored as key strategies to reduce mortality in communities with limited access to healthcare services.
