Abstract

Family relationships and self-esteem are currently highly relevant issues to benefit the adolescent population. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between intra-family relationships and self-esteem in adolescents from the Joaquín Arias Lyceum Educational Unit. The study methodology was based on a quantitative approach, descriptive correlational and cross-sectional. We worked with a sample of 200 students. The Stanley Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (IAC) and the Intrafamily Relationships Evaluation Scale (E.R.I) were used. Among the results, there was a predominance of low self-esteem in the studied sample and in regards to intra-family relationships, it presents a medium level. When correlating the two variables, it was known that they have a positive correlation. Therefore, it was concluded that self-esteem is related to intrafamily relationships.
