Abstract

Due to the need to control the pest Tetranychus sp. that frequently affects crops of granadilla (Passiflora ligularis Juss.) in Peru, constant use of chemical acaricides is made, proving to be expensive for farmers in the region, the search for new control alternatives is urgent, for which the objective was to evaluate the biocidal effect of the botanical extract of Capsicum annuum L. + Allium sativum L. in the control of Tetranychus sp. in granadilla (Passiflora ligularis Juss.). The work was carried out in the peasant community of Marcajananta, Province of Pachitea, Huánuco region, Peru; at an altitude of 2,560 masl, from August 2019 to January 2020, in an area of ​​568 m2, with a replica of efficacy in the fruits in December 2021. The biocidal effectiveness of the botanical extract was analyzed in its different concentrations, under a randomized block design with four treatments and four repetitions. The presence of live mites per leaf and fruit was considered as evaluated variables. Treatments T1 and T2 reported a decrease in infestations from 68.7 to 0.60 mites/leaf and 64.2 to 2.40 respectively, while T3 reported a decrease from 64.2 to 27.4 mites/ leaf differs from the control treatment that throughout the period registers high infestations. In fruits, T1 and T2 are those that reduced from 33.5 mites/fruit to 0.00 mites and the percentage of efficiency in the fruits was 100 %.
