Reporte de un caso: experiencias del pie diabético en el primer nivel de atención

Resumen

El pie diabético constituye una complicación microvascular asociada a neuropatía. Genera un aumento sustancial de la morbimortalidad con gran impacto a la calidad de vida del paciente, y requiere un manejo multidisciplinario para evitar complicaciones mayores.  Mostramos un caso de un paciente diabético de 10 años de evolución, con controles de glucosa alterados que presenta un pie diabético secundario a quemadura y que tras varias semanas de curaciones y tratamiento antibiótico termina en injerto de piel. Conocer la evolución y manejo del pie diabético es elemental para los futuros médicos y enfermeras, quienes deben obtener habilidades necesarias para el manejo óptimo de estos pacientes.
