Abstract

Female infertility is considered a complex phenomenon, influenced by several individual and environmental factors, which imply a global challenge. It is classified as primary, characteristic of the absence of a previous conception, and secondary after achieving a pregnancy or successful previous conception. Factors such as constant exposure to pollutants and chemicals, current lifestyles, and delayed motherhood periods play a crucial role in its prevalence. Additionally, pathological conditions are highlighted, including: polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, and uterine fibroids, which are significant in this context. Global health organizations estimate that one in six couples faces difficulty conceiving. In this regard, the impact of omega-3 consumption on female infertility is being investigated, enhancing ovocyte quality and reducing inflammation; although the evidence remains contradictory, underlining the need for a more in-depth approach in assisted reproduction techniques (ART). Studies suggest that ovarian stimulation reduces spontaneous abortions and optimizes uterine conditions to improve embryo quality. Integrating supplements that favor these conditions could be fundamental in managing female infertility.
