Abstract

Abstract: Chronic work stress is emotional exhaustion, which increases the risk of absenteeism. It can occur especially in professions that have a direct relationship with people such as healthcare workers. For this reason, resilience plays an important role in building positive life behaviors.  The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between chronic work stress and resilience in a sample of 359 formal caregivers. The research was quantitative, descriptive and transactional. The instruments used were the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and the Bief resilience scale (BRS). Among the most relevant results, it was evidenced that resilience maintained a mean of 18.33 and a significant negative relationship was found between depersonalization and resilience. In this regard, it can be indicated that resilience in this study is considered as a modulating variable in the presence of depersonalization.
