There are several researches that analyze the impact of social or financial assistance by the state on the cognitive development of children in vulnerable situations. However, the majority are from central countries, with preschool children and in educational settings. On the other hand, in Argentina vulnerable environments are conform of approximately 35% of the population (ODSA, 2020) being a matter that needs to be worked in the country. The objective of the following study was to evaluate the contribution of state economic aid called Universal Child Allwancce (UCA) and social vulnerability in non-verbal communication behaviors in 60 mother-infant dyads from 9 to 13 months with and without unsatisfied basic needs. The Engagement Scale of Adamson and Beckerman (1984) was used to assess non-verbal communication and the Socioeconomic Level Scale of INDEC (2001). It was found that UCA and social vulnerability affect some behaviors of non-verbal communication of the dyadic in 10 % and triadic type in 15% approximately. This underlines the importance of state economic aid during the first years of life.
