PoCUS UtA-PI como predictor de preeclampsia: Riesgo de muerte materna en entornos de bajos recursos

Resumen

El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el potencial de ecografía Doppler en modalidad Point-of-care (PoCUS) en la “cabecera del paciente” de la arteria uterina del primer trimestre para la predicción temprana de la preeclampsia (PE), en mujeres embarazadas de riesgo en entornos de bajos recursos. Este fue un estudio longitudinal prospectivo, incluidas 42 mujeres embarazadas. El potencial de los índices de pulsatilidad (PI) en la arteria uterina se evaluó como una herramienta para la detección de preeclampsia. El Examen Doppler de la la arteria uterina realizada temprano a las 11–14 SG permite la detección de embarazos que se desarrollarán PE con una sensibilidad del 78% y una especificidad del 100% según el análisis de PI. La realización del examen Doppler de la arteria uterina es una prueba de detección no invasiva eficaz para el desarrollo de PE en embarazos de riesgo, particularmente apropiado en sistemas de salud con medios limitados de evaluación otros biomarcadores tales como los centros de salud tipo A y entornos rurales.
