Abstract

Abstract: This article tries to provide an overview that helps to contextualize the main spheres in which emotional intelligence is implicit. The objective of this research was to provide relevant findings of emotional intelligence in various fields. Therefore, the following were addressed: the educational, psychopathological, and job satisfaction areas. The methodology is based on theoretical reviews of high-impact scientific bases, journals: WOS, Scopus, and catalog 2.0 journals. Through a thorough analysis of: knowledge, skills, and traits as essential components of emotional intelligence. Among the results, it was found that EI has both a social and an emotional connotation. On the other hand, social skills composed of: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, social skills are based on empathy. It is concluded that the fundamental role of emotion regulation as personality traits can influence the daily life of people, in the fields: education, mental health, and job satisfaction.
