Abstract

This systematic review seeks to establish a survey of the way in which the differential diagnosis between schizophrenia and paranoia in psychoanalysis has been working in the last ten years. The PRISMA statement was applied for systematic review in databases that surveyed scientific articles in Spanish and Portuguese in the last ten years. Nine scientific articles from different countries were found, highlighting in four of them the presence of a conceptual and clinical approach to the diagnosis in psychosis, although none presented details on the differential diagnosis between schizophrenia and paranoia. It is relevant to put into perspective how Ibero-American psychoanalytic associations have produced knowledge that does not circulate in formal academic environments, although is present in publications of magazine articles and books from a psychoanalytic background. It is hoped that this production will be able to circulate soon in formal academic media.
