Keywords: motor skills, balance, coordination, psychomotor skills

Abstract

It is important to understand the difficulties that can arise from not developing gross motor skills in children as these can affect balance and coordination. The objective was to prioritize the causes of the deficit in psychomotor skills, and the incidence, when an infant cannot maintain a stable and controlled position, to perform movements and actions in a fluid and precise manner. It starts from observation and proceeds to carry out qualitative, descriptive, non-experimental analytical research using the PRISMA method to guarantee the veracity of the information and the relevance of the research, obtaining 25 units of analysis. These findings added substantial depth and insight into the importance of gross motor development and coordination and balance skills. It is concluded that it is important to identify difficulties to promote adequate physical development to improve psychomotor skills in children.
